Politicians with a criminal background would not consider the best options for majority of people and care more about their own self interest.

we should give everyone a chance, if they committed a serious crime that would give them a life sentence then no but if it was something stupid and not serious they did as a kid then they deserve a chance.

We need people who are honest and good to run our country. How can we trust people who have a criminal history to have the best interests of everyone in mind.
@9FS5HPKConservative7mos7MO
Obviously it depends on the severity of the crime in question, but I believe that the people who run our country should be of good morals and have clean criminal records. It is a matter of trust and accountability, our leaders should be the best of us and not people who are subject to impulsive decisions, which most crimes stem from, or crooked enough to thoroughly plan a crime for any reason.

Donald Trump, with 75 federal enditements, is allowed to run for the Federal election of the most powerful country in the world. He faces almost 700 years in prison, and yet he is allowed to run.

How would we let a person that has criminal record be in office without knowing if they are still doing what they did before.
@9B29JRZ1yr1Y
Why would we let someone who has broken the law, now be in power of the law? Laughable.
