Licenced gun owners already pass strict checks and should be allowed to defend their family need be. Laws dont work as criminals dont care. Protect us legal citizens

If there is a person on your property in a manner that suggests trespassing you don’t want to be playing a guessing game like with the current law of “if the circumstances show equal force” pertaining to you can only legally shoot someone in self-defence if the attacker is armed. If I am inside my home, with my family I don’t want to second guess myself before I go and grab my gun to confront the intruder. No, the government should not pass a national "stand your ground" law as gun crimes would increase
and homocides would increase along with the amount of guns in Canada. Which could lead to more mass shootings and school shootings. With the possibility of Canada as a nation becoming more and more alike to our neighbours, the United States of America.

If we allow this to occur, many students will begin to skip school in case of danger and we would need to increase taxes to give to the police to help counter shootings.
