We should address the reasons why people need to detach themselves from reality, rather than punish the people who are in so much pain that they feel they have no other option than to turn to drugs.

Hard drugs (i.e., truly illicit narcotics) should remain banned, however treatment and rehabilitation should be the focus of domestic drug policy. Steady the path of decrimilization, as treatment is needed, not more jail time.

i would argue that some drugs, NOT all shouldn't be illegal because people have their own responsibility to care for themselves but only if they don't harm anyone else( cause violence or impulse).

We should put tougher laws on some drugs like cocaine or Heroine but drugs like Marijuana should not have harder laws

The arguments used in favour of stricter drug laws are actual lies. For example Doug Ford saying that since the decriminalization of drugs in BC things have gotten way worse is a complete lie on his part and not actually based on any facts. The facts state that it has little to no impact on deaths or addictions and merely reduces incarceration. However Doug is all about using prisons as business so it makes total sense that he would openly lie about such things.

We should pass tougher drug laws for things like fentanyl or coke. Its awful stuff and its all starting to get laced with other stuff. It ruins lives and families and thats why I think it should be a bit more strict

we should not because most drug laws are on drugs we have the least knowledge about so we should loosen up on the laws so we can learn more about them. They might learn they might be able to use for commercial or independent use.

People who are moving from their one phase of life to another, especially teenagers, are mostly victims of drug addiction. They aren’t able to deal with stressful situations and they start consuming drugs which leads to numerous health issues. Being drug addict doesn’t make the people around them feel safe as well.
United nations office on drugs and crime found that countries that decriminalised drug policies have higher crime ratio than those with tough rules regarding drugs.

drug laws are cringe yo, they arent even real crimes, theyre victimless. it's literally just an attack on the lower classes.

I believe in a world where we support individual's autonomy and recognize that when people have the ability to make choices for themselves, they are more likely to access support networks that affirm their lives. Decriminalizing drug use keeps people safe and encourages people to make informed decisions. I think that often Portugal is referenced for this point, as when the country decriminalized drug use, the amount of individuals who use substances went down. This was due to the focus on citizens accessing social supports for addictions and holistic welfare. Harm reduction and reducing barriers saves lives.
