I think minimum wage should make you enough to afford to rent a house on a budget of 2000$ a month and still have money for food, fuel, utilities, and more such as entertainment to keep yourself healthy and happy

Raise minimum wage or lower living costs. People cannot survive with the current state of taxes and wage.

If you don't pay your employees how are they going to pay taxes which in turn gives the government more money to help people out.

Minimum wage should be able to afford the costs of living. We should be making enough money to support our families and have our basic needs. Our minimum wage should increase and our expenses should decrease.

When we were at 13$ an hour things were good. nothing was too expensive and we were able to live. now at 16$ an hour you can barely afford anything because the price of everything has skyrocketed.

 @9H5JCH8Liberalfrom British Columbia disagreed…4mos4MO

you should be able to make enough on a minimum wage job to be able to afford rent, car payments, food etc...
so minimum wage should increase to a point where people living on rent shouldn't have to worry about if they can make the payments.

The economy at the moment is in really bad state. If that could be fixed, people won't find it quite necessary to have prices increased. The main reason why people want the minimum wage to increase is because it's getting hard to afford and live in such an expensive economy. If the economy could be controlled, the demand to increase minimum wage will decrease

If we increase minimum wage it will allow families to afford the prices of things even if the prices do go up.

 @9FRKYNNfrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

Price's are already increasing constantly regardless, no matter what prices will go up to a point people can't afford stuff. raising the Minimum Wage wont stop the prices anyway.

The statement is irrelevant as increasing minimum wage will allow people to increase their purchasing power and can afford more.

 @9FH38CYPeople’sfrom Ontario agreed…6mos6MO

The fact that it has been a trend to continuously increase the minimum wage is proof in of itself that it has not solved anything.

 @9F6ZRPLfrom Alberta disagreed…7mos7MO

If everything is constant increasing, so should minimum wage, its only fair for people in need of supporting themsleves

 @9F6FC8BConservativefrom Ontario disagreed…7mos7MO

increasing minimum wage won’t cause prices to increase because people will be able to afford things. this will bring more money in for the government

 @9GYBKDPfrom Ontario disagreed…5mos5MO

I believe that if the government just stopped increasing tax they would have no need to keep increasing minimum wage.

 @9FSVSN6Conservativefrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

We need to increase minimum wage and decrease the prices on things so that people can live good and happy lives.

 @9FH4WZJNew Democraticfrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

Minimum wage is meant to provide a base level income for people to contribute to and engage with the economy. If it is so low that minimum wage workers are unable to do so, this negatively impacts the economy. There will be less demand for goods and services, so prices will raise. If anything, it will be a never-ending cycle of prices of goods raising if minimum wage is not elevated. Raising minimum wage allows people to participate more effectively in the economy, which is an overall advantage to our national economy.

 @9FGMJLZfrom British Columbia disagreed…6mos6MO

The increased margins and profits of large grocery companies makes it clear and they are a major factor in what is percieved as "inflation"

 @9FGKWDMConservativefrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

I think that the statement "No, this will only cause prices to increase in a never-ending cycle if we increase minimum wages" is true for a fact, but it's also untrue since if the government does not raise the minimum wage, people, especially the lower class, won't be able to afford the cost of living.

 @9FG4Y9Yfrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

Either way, whether minimum wage goes up or not, inflation will follow and there will be no legitimate benefit

 @9FDFH6Lfrom British Columbia disagreed…6mos6MO

 @9FG3ZGDfrom Ontario disagreed…6mos6MO

bring Canada down to 0% tax which will have more people coming to our country with money and will still be good for the market. It can also help the country become a growing country again. keep minimum wage

 @9GFB9THfrom Ontario disagreed…5mos5MO

I believe that is a risk that we should take, if companies were smart they would realize that if they make products cheaper and the wages up more people will have more money to spend on the foods or whatever the store is selling.
