Een economische stimulans is een monetair en fiscaal beleid vastgesteld door de overheid met de bedoeling van het stabiliseren van hun economieën tijdens een fiscale crisis. Het beleid omvat een verhoging van de overheidsuitgaven voor infrastructuur, belastingverlagingen en het verlagen van de rente. In 2016 voorgesteld Justin Trudeau een stimuleringspakket die volgens hem zal het BBP te verhogen met 0,5 procent en 100.000 banen te creëren.

No, recession is a natural cycle that purges excess with some exceptions as were necessary in the extreme 2008 recession where spending in both Canadian infrastructure and assisting heavily hit sectors was necessary
