On Wednesday July 6th, 2021 a group of rioters breached the U.S. Capitol after a rally for then President Donald Trump. Members of the House and Senate were both inside the building as thousands of rioters surrounded it. The rioting took place as Congress was set to ratify President Joe Biden’s Electoral College win. The U.S. Capitol was both a working office building and a museum, with historic art in the stairwells and on the walls.
