no, the Canadian government is too ineffective to maintain such a system.

 @9L2P5YGfrom Ontario answered…4wks4W

Yes but up to a point. It should not extract too much money. Higher costs such as for ore severe injuries(MRI, Major X-Rays) should not be covered since they happen rarely. There should be a program for people who have these but are unable to pay. A loan with no insurance and only a +10% cost when returning the loan. Also government should make price for drugs the same for everyone and everywhere. I don't support high priced private institutions. Government should provide the drugs at the same cost for everyone.

Yes, but allow people to opt in or opt out and choose a different plan, and or pay for service elsewhere if desired.

The system isn't broken at the customer endpoint, it's further up the chain. This is an issue with first order thinking which will not fix the system.

No but I think it should be ran by the private sector and the government sector

Both public and private! Mixed option is the best option. Give Canadians more choice!

 @8VTQ7Q2from Ontario answered…3yrs3Y

pending how costly it would be to the citizen, some may not be able to afford it if it's not a reduced price

 @8VN69CCLibertarianfrom Ontario answered…3yrs3Y

We should keep universal healthcare but also offer a fast-lane private system for people in urgent need of medical care and need to see a specialist. The system would still be fair, but those who could afford to pay for private care could see a specialist as long as they could afford the service, rather than waiting in line.

 @8VN22QDfrom Alberta answered…3yrs3Y

people who take care of themselves and are no burden to the health care system intentionally should be taken care of no questions asked. if you do ANYTHING excessively that intentionally compromises your health you should have to pay every cent out of your own pocket

I support universal healthcare, which guarantees healthcare for all, but not single-payer, which forces everybody into a state-run government healthcare system.

No, instead privatize healthcare and provide healthcare vouchers and healthcare tax credits for low income individual/families.

The federal government is the only one who should pay for health care. Everyone should get reliable fast health care no matter their income. No person should be able to use insurance to get priority health care.
