National symbols like the flag or the anthem are not very important to me, and do not have to to shape anyone's identity just because they are living in that country

On the other hand, it's critical to acknowledge that different people and communities may have quite different interpretations of national symbols. Others may question or criticize these symbols' significance, especially in situations where discriminatory practices or a contested national identity are prevalent. Some people may welcome these symbols as representations of liberal nationalist principles.
