As long as it doesn't invite any ire from Ukraine's enemies, it would be beneficial to provide aid towards our ally Ukraine.

I don't understand how this is a foreign policy question for Canada. Canada is barely a contributor to NATO and their international interests. NATO spiraling into what is now an international protectorate, allowing countries who will almost certainly end up in war, into the alliance increasing the likelihood that they will end up in a WW3 scenario, instead of a peacemaking force (ie, Yugoslavia).

They agreed to not bring NATO any closer to the Russia border, during their independence.
