Allowing the wealthiest individuals to contribute the most money guarantees that all of the viable political parties will exclusivley present postitions that advance the interests of those individuals. This is fundamentally anti-democratic. It would create an oligarchy in which the illusion of democracy was only preserved to maintain popular support for the established order.
