Canada has a legal obligation enshrined in its constitution to support and foster the well-being of Indigenous communities - this is a fact of law, not a matter of political debate. Further, as Canada, through direct discrimination and paternal control over Indigenous communities, Canada is responsible for much of the hardship Indigenous peoples face and therefore, Canada has a moral obligation in addition to a legal one to ensure Indigenous communities are given tools for self-government and to thrive.

Why should we be giving other people money for the color of there skin if we want equality thats far from it.

as mentioned, there are many cases where people should be honoured there reputations but that would come out of tax money, already upset about how much taxes cost? imagine if it was all fair.

The problems are past oriented, and we live in a forward thinking world, include them into Society, but don’t reward them for their ancestors oppression.

Most natives the were in reservation schools are in they're late 30s to 80s so funding should be cut for "aboriginals under 35

Their land was robbed from them by ungrateful people so they deserve to at least be funded by them since they want to take over.

Wasting wildlife and neglecting the environment with littering. They have different laws, and from what I have heard, they do a lot of drugs too

Indigenous people are the people of this land, the land everyone is living on right now was first the land of Indigenous people. Indigenous people went from having all of this, everything they needed, to now being pushing into small reservers where they can't even get clean water to drink from, the ability to vote is much harder.

The past will never be considered reconciled they will continue to move the goal posts as time goes on regardless of how much they receive, if we do not consider everyone as equals and continue to put people into boxes that receive something that others do not we will never achieve that peace in society. All for one and one for all we need to achieve harmony. This will never be done while we continue to put people into boxes.

My best counter to the No position on Native funding is that since the First Nations people live in Canada.

The indigenous peoples were the ones which can to this country first. They made Canada the land that it is. As they were wiped away by the racism of our country in the past, we should pay them back using funding from our government.

Take a look at Prince Albert and look at how many indecencies people are in jail, there is a reason why these stereotypes exist because they do indeed hold some truth in them, go to other cities with many indigenous people would you feel safe seeing them on the streets sleeping and doing drugs?
