In September 2022, an estimated 120.6 million passenger trips were taken on Canada's urban transit networks which is a very huge data. Numerous people are depended on public transportation and most of them are happily using it.

 @9FHMRSVfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SHOULD BE ALLOWED BECAUSE PEOPLE UNABLE TO ACQUIRE A PERSONAL TRANSPORT MEANS DEPEND ON IT.

 @9F7Y7Z7 from Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Traveling will become more affordable for citizens as they can choose the fare that suits their needs.

 @9FDYKTWfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

No, I don't agree with this. The public transportation fare should be the same for all citizens irrespective of their income. This would create inequality between the poor and the rich.

 @9FJJJVGfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Most of the public depend on public transportation as not everyone can afford private vehicle so, it is very crucial to increase the number of public vehicles as well as improve current transportation scenario.

There are still numerous number of people in Canada who are dependent on public transportation and increase in it will help them travel safely and easily

 @9F8CXRCfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Public transport saves a lot of energy whereas private jets, cabs, etc are more expensive and consumes more energy. Additionally, public transportation bring the sense of togetherness and respect for the fellow citizens of the nation.

 @9FGPSTVfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Create incentives like discount train ride days or free rides to local attractions to further entice people to the public transit options. Ultimately, the goal is to get people excited and encourage them to have positive feelings toward public transportation.

By doing this government can increase, economical benefits, social equity, efficiency and space utilisation. It mainly helps to reduced dependence on oil.

 @9FDGBB5Conservativefrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

if you were blind and couldn't drive meaning you rely on public transit would it be helpful for you to have to walk everywhere no matter the distance or place you are?

 @9FCDFCNfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

We need more light rail or magnetic rail setup in Canada to reduce emissions and traffic congestion. This will only ever be setup publicly.

Speaking about Toronto specifically, so much money has gone into public transportation but nothing gets built or fixed on time. It just drags on for years and years whereas other countries build things much faster. Eglinton LRT is an example of what could have been built in a few years and has now become the joke of the city. The "track work" that they've been working on, to the inconvenience of Toronto citizens, to make the subway faster has done nothing except slow things down. It takes me 5% longer to get to work than it did 2 years ago. This government money is being wasted. The contractors take 10x longer because they bill by the hour

 @9LR7C6Cfrom Ontario  disagreed…8mos8MO

I think People shouldn't pay over 3/4 dollars on Just transportation But I still believe that we should all be able to access public transportation

 @9LNHG9Pfrom Quebec  disagreed…8mos8MO

Public transportation should lower the prices because it costs a lot to go on a train or take a bus without losing serious money

 @9FRSMNFfrom Nova Scotia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Privatization allows more competition; therefore lowering cost for riders and users, while taking the responsibility of cost and maintaining of the systems from the tax payers.

 @9FR4Q6CRhinocerosfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

No, there are more problems at stake. Our energy should be more focused on raising the minimum wage, and lowering house taxes, and taxes for the people. If, and when we do this, public transportation shouldn’t be much of a problem for the public.

 @9FDG6RFfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

The government actually shouldn't increase the public transportation because if the price is going up nearly every single year, what is the use of increasing it intentionally when it is already pricey for some people?

 @9FC85B8from Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

access to transportation is one of the leading predictors of poverty and economic mobility, by government investing in public transit which may not be profitable we will enhance the standard of living for many in poverty

 @9FN3FSFfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

No because most people are just saying yes because they dont have enough room on the bus because people are never sitting next to eachother or they have there bags beside them and dont give any room for people

 @9FD56LKfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

The government will not be able to support us when going to court to sue them, with evidential proof from citizens and a leader of high authority, privatized public transportation will have to go back to the Government's controlled Public Transportation.

 @9G9LSNMfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

My best counter argument for public transportation is if you are in a smaller town it is better if you would take your transportation object because it makes more sense in bigger places.

 @9GCWYVBfrom Nova Scotia  disagreed…1yr1Y

putting more busses on the road will lead to more traffic and more of an annoyance when commuting. If funding for public transport is increased, then the funding for roadworks should be increased to widen the roads to accommodate.
