I think a big problem with left vs. right is our tendency to sort people in boxes instead of taking them at face value for their character. There needs to a big switch in how we think about other people, I am more left-leaning but can get along with plenty of more right-leaning people. Being able to hear the other side of an argument is important so I do not think we need everyone to become center-leaning.
