to me seeing aboriginal culture on mainstream society has always just made me feel good about myself and how there are other people in the world who are the same as me, culture and all

It is important, however not crucial. This is because I accept that if my values or culture is shown to everyone, I will be getting everyone's culture as well. While I don't mind seeing different cultures and beliefs, you should not be forced to watch it.
