Would you feel more or less connected to your community if everyone had a similar cultural story to yours?

I would feel less connected to the community if everyone had a similar culture because it would be boring if everyone had the same culture with different ones you learn more

How important is it for you to see your own cultural practices reflected in mainstream society, and why?

 @9HDV9WYfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

to me seeing aboriginal culture on mainstream society has always just made me feel good about myself and how there are other people in the world who are the same as me, culture and all

 @9HDTK2Pfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

It is important, however not crucial. This is because I accept that if my values or culture is shown to everyone, I will be getting everyone's culture as well. While I don't mind seeing different cultures and beliefs, you should not be forced to watch it.

What would friendship mean to you in a place where everyone had the same cultural references and jokes?

 @9HVMKCYfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I prefer a community with many cultures, with greater knowledge and awareness of cultural differences.

Can you envision a world where all your classmates share a single heritage; what would you cherish or miss?

 @9J6S628from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Things wouldn’t be that different, someone’s race or heritage doesn’t apply to their merit as a person or a friend. Perhaps I would learn less about the accustoms of people from outside of Canada, as usually I would learn of those things from a friend of those cultures.

Would the lack of cultural diversity affect your sense of freedom and choice in daily life, and how?

 @9HHJ2CHfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, if anything it’s anti multicultural that we purposely place people from different groups/race into things, just so they “look” a certain way. We need to move forward without putting so much weight on different groups. Let’s all just get along and accept that we all live differently in the same world. Easy!
