Former President Donald Trump's campaign has launched an initiative to engage Black voters in Philadelphia, a traditionally Democratic stronghold, through a series of unique outreach events.
The campaign's efforts included the opening of a public office in the city and hosting events featuring cigars and cognac, aimed specifically at Black men. The events, which saw participation from Republican Representatives Wesley Hunt and Byron Donalds, were designed to persuade Black voters of the benefits of switching allegiance from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Amidst a backdrop of sipping premium spirits and smoking high-end cigars, the campaign's message focused on why Trump's policies could better serve the Black community.
However, it remains unclear how effective these outreach efforts have been in swaying voters.
