I agree. The other alternative to not have a baby is to put him up for adoption or foster care, and both systems are awful. I do not believe that it's normal to have to wait for years to adopt a child when there is so many kids with no parents. Having an abortion is already a very tough decision to make, I believe that it is very unnecessary to add more stress to women by taking this right away.

And if the woman didn't decide or plan to get pregnant and cannot afford to support the child there are options to give that child a life i.e. adoption. Even though adoption is not ideal this gives the child a chance to have a life.

People can get pregnant not under their own terms (rape,etc) or at a time they are not physically able to raise a child (teenage years, poverty, etc) so they would just be putting the child in a bad place if the parent wasn’t allowed to choose to abort because the parent might not be able to support a good life for the child or could struggle caring for the child as they are a constant reminder of a traumatic situation. By law, we cannot force another human to donate blood, organs, bone marrow etc. to save the life of another even if it will cause minimal harm to them. Most of us agree that this is a good thing. Why does a fetus have a right to someone else's body when nobody else does? There are plenty of people who will die on a donor list, but we do not force anyone to donate organs to save them. There is also the argument of bringing a child into a home surrounded by domestic violence. The statistics show a huge increase in sexual assault within domestic violent relationships. Anti-abortion laws make it harder for people to seek legal medical recourse and some people will resort to "unethical methods" to get the abortions, which could create more complications to the mother's health and body.

Canada has a low abortion rate overall compared to other countries, with approximately 74,000 abortions reported in 2020. Roughly half of abortions occur among women aged 18 to 29 years and roughly 90% of abortions are performed within the first trimester (12 weeks).
We have a low abortion rate to begin with, and 90% of an abortions are in the first 12 weeks so why must you keep coming after the right to choice, the right to a person bodily autonomy and freedom.

Here are the arguments
1. Abortion is inevitable, we'd rather have people do it in a safe, controlled manner, as opposed to a dangerous way, alone at home (If you paid attention to history, this was the reason it was legalised in Canada, in the first place)

With contraception being so readily available, the majority of abortions are done because of poor decisions and judgement. In the cases in which consent could not be given (eg. rape, pedophilia) or in the instance of possible major birth defects (incest), I believe it justified. But with the commodification of casual sex in our society, I believe it has become commonplace to receive gratification immediately and consider the consequences later. I believe this is the fault of both men and women, and men are just as responsible for unwanted pregnancies as women. I believe any man who impregnates a woman and abandons her should be subject to large fines (or child support).

Having a child requires the commitment of both the mother and the father, a binding through marriage, and a promise to be together until death.
