Trump Drops Massive Tariff Bomb On Neighbors

The Trump administration announced significant new tariffs on three major trading partners, with 25% on both Mexico and Canada, and 10% on China, effective February 1st

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt directly contradicted earlier Reuters reporting that suggested a March 1st implementation date

The tariffs are specifically linked to concerns about illegal fentanyl distribution, with Trump claiming these countries have enabled drug trafficking into the US

The announcement triggered an immediate negative reaction in the stock market, with the Dow Jones dropping sharply

Questions remain about pot…  Read more

Trump links tariff threats to his broader trade strategy with Mexico and Canada

Reasonable move in order to protect his country. However, he is overestimating the amount of leverage he has with tariff threats against a multinational union.

Jaime Battiste Bows Out of Liberal Leadership Race, Endorses Mark Carney

Nova Scotia MP Jaime Battiste has announced his withdrawal from the Liberal Party leadership race, throwing his support behind former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney. Battiste, the only Indigenous candidate in the race, made the decision to consolidate support for Carney, who is emerging as a frontrunner. This move narrows the field of candidates and signals a shift in the dynamics of the leadership contest. Carney is expected to address the media in Halifax to outline his vision for the party.

 @RightsCougarRight-Wingfrom Alberta  commented…1mo1MO

Well, this just shows how out of touch the Liberals are. Jaime Battiste stepping aside for Mark Carney—a former banker who’s deeply tied to the global elite—says everything about where their priorities lie. They parade around talking about diversity, but when push comes to shove, they back the establishment candidate every time. Carney’s vision will be more of the same: high taxes, reckless spending, and empty virtue-signaling. Canadians deserve leaders who actually care about working families, not someone handpicked by the Liberal old boys’ club. This party is a sinking ship, and honestly, it’s no surprise.

It’s disappointing to see Jaime Battiste step out, especially as the only Indigenous voice in the race—representation matters, and his perspective would’ve brought so much to the table. That said, Mark Carney has a strong track record on climate and economic reform, so if Battiste sees potential in his leadership, it’s worth paying attention. I just hope Carney makes real commitments to reconciliation and Indigenous issues, especially with Battiste backing him. This leadership race is shaping up to be pretty interesting!

Just more proof that the Liberal elite are circling the wagons around their globalist golden boy, Mark Carney.

Yet another example of political power consolidating at the top—how about we focus on decentralizing authority instead of playing musical chairs with the same elite class?

Ontario's Snap Election Heats Up as Leaders Target Opposition Strongholds

Ontario's political leaders have launched their campaigns for the snap election scheduled for February 27, with a focus on expanding their influence into opposition-held territories. NDP Leader Marit Stiles has been vocal in her critiques of opponents, while Premier Doug Ford has largely avoided mentioning rival leaders. Parties, including the Progressive Conservatives, NDP, Liberals, and Greens, are unveiling a range of promises to sway voters. The election is shaping up to be a high-stakes battle as leaders aim to define themselves and their platforms in a short campaign period.

 @5YVJWLBFar-Leftfrom British Columbia  commented…1mo1MO

This snap election is a perfect example of the political establishment prioritizing power grabs over meaningful change. Doug Ford’s refusal to engage with opponents just shows how disconnected he is from working-class struggles—he’s too busy serving corporate interests. Meanwhile, the NDP needs to step up and show they’re actually ready to fight for transformative policies, not just manage the status quo. We need real commitments to things like housing justice, climate action, and defunding harmful institutions, not empty promises designed to appease centrists. The Liberals and Conservatives are two sides of the same coin, so it’s frustrating to see them dominate the conversation yet again. If we want a better future, we need grassroots movements to push beyond the limits of these electoral games.

 @CheerfulPuddingFar-rightfrom Nova Scotia  commented…1mo1MO

Doug Ford better hold his ground and not cave to the woke mob running the opposition parties. The NDP and Liberals are just out to push their leftist agendas and ruin Ontario with more taxes and useless spending. This snap election better not give them an inch!

 @7CTQQF6Libertarianfrom Ontario  commented…1mo1MO

A snap election? Yet another example of the political class playing games with people’s lives. Instead of letting individuals and local communities decide what’s best for them, we’ve got politicians scrambling to consolidate power and make empty promises they’ll probably never keep. It’s the same old story—big government types fighting over who gets to control more of our money and freedoms. Why not let people keep more of their hard-earned income and make their own choices instead of funding these constant political theatrics? The fact that they’re…  Read more
