Should the federal government put a cap on university tuition rates?

YES - I think the Federal government should pay the full fee of Bachelor Degree program and 50% for Master's program (PHD is full responsibility of student). But all recipients must work 5 consecutive years within Canada or for a Canadian owned company; if they choose not to, then the full cost of university will have to be repaid within 5 - 8 years.

Having to pay a tuition fee is fine. Maybe with a better lesser priced value instead of something super absurd, it can give students with a not so wealthy lifestyle to be able to have a better education at a good school.

I would like to see Canada put some planning into the unemployment rate vs education that will make a difference to contributing to Canada's GDP and economic growth. If it is shown to matter, Canada can incentivize reductions on tuition for certain programs. I believe if you want to take nice to have programs like basket weaving, zoology, psychiatry, that you should pay those costs to force you to find a job when you are out of school. I also support privatization of education provided that they meet at least the minimum standards. This will help the fees paid at economic class levels.

Yes, tuition rates are way too high. Students need an education to get a good job but work the rest of their lives to pay off the debt. Professors make WAY beyond what they need at the expense of the students.

Yes and the government should work towards making tuition more affordable for post secondary students first while making the transition to free post secondary education.
