The Conservative Party of Canada, colloquially known as the Tories, is a federal political party in Canada. It was formed in 2003 from the multiple right-wing parties which had existed in Canada for over a century, historically grouped into two camps, "Red Tories" and "Blue Tories". The "founding principles" of the Conservative Party appear in both the constitution and the policy declaration. They are the reasons that the Conservative Party was formed, and thus the only part of the constitution and policy declaration not up for possible amendment at a national convention.

What role do you think governments should play in influencing personal responsibility, and has this affected how you or your peers see the world?
@9TSVBD63mos3MO
I don't believe governments really should be influencing personal responsibility.
@9TWHXYPConservative 3mos3MO
Through legislation, social services, and education, governments have a significant impact on how people define personal responsibility. Their impact has the power to motivate people to make responsible decisions and to feel more informed. Government programs in the areas of health, education, and financial literacy, for instance, can enable people to take charge of their own well-being

What does freedom of speech mean to you, and where do you think we should draw the line, if at all?
@9J8WFDB11mos11MO
Freedom of speech means freedom of speech
There should be no Thought Crime and thoughts are formed by discussions. Discussions are speech. Keep laws away from speech and thoughts.
@9RC8G4C5mos5MO
You should be able to do and say when you want and be left alone by the govt, as long as no one is being harmed by the rhetoric, otherwise, stop things like blatant racism and hate.
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Freedom of speech is very important. Let citizens make up their own mind about a topic. “You can fool some of the people some of the time, some of them all of the time-but not all of the people ALL of the time. “ Common sense should prevail.

What's your take on the importance of national defense and military spending for a country's safety?
@9RCH4755mos5MO
Our current geopolitical climate is tumultuous to say the least. We have historically relied on our American neighbours for defense, but we must also bolster our own independent protection. With the rise in drone warfare, we have a strong opportunity here to strengthen our defensive capabilities by investing in drone R&D. Drone technology will not only bolster our military capabilities, without risking Canadian lives, but strengthen agriculture, fire suppression and other industries for the greater benefit of our country as a whole.
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Military should be provided the best on order to defend the country. However, having alliances with neighbours should help deter possible threats.

Is balancing higher taxes with public services like healthcare and education important to you, or do you believe in lower taxes and more personal choice?
@9TMWGTF3mos3MO
I agree with balancing higher taxes with public services
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
What values do you think should be prioritized when making policies for balancing the economy and the environment?
@9TMR89C 3mos3MO
I have no trustworthy information on this matter. I apologize for not having a response.
YES

Can you think of a time when government regulations seemed to help or hinder your personal or family business?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Absolutely. We only have to look back to the recent Covid epidemic decisions. The decisions made by government with incomplete data, destroyed people’s life and hurt businesses and education. Shots did not stop people from getting or spreading Covid

What role do you think personal responsibility should play in a person's success compared to government support?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
As long as citizens are trying, the government should lend some help with jobs and reeducation and training.

How do you view the balance between public healthcare benefits and the taxes needed to support them?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Universal healthcare should be a right. However competition is healthy and usually reduces costs. Doctors should have to divide their time between the public and private systems.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How should the success of a country's educational system be measured, and what experiences from your school can you relate to this?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
The students should be tested periodically and the best outcomes should be implemented. The better the school and teachers, the more a student learns and benefits. More time should be spent on core subjects with some social activities encouraged.
@9J8WFDB11mos11MO
Ask the people
Ask the people who graduated in the last 5 years and see if they liked it, if they would want to put their kids through it, and what improvements could be made.
Any other metric is pointless. Interested kids are learning kids.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Have you ever experienced or observed the impact of tax changes on your community or family?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Yes. Tax increases have one large consequence and that is that prices of everything escalates and the public is no further ahead.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How do you feel about the balance between economic growth and environmental protection in government decision-making?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
Economic growth is a product of a good economy. Environmental protection should be a consideration. Companies should be given incentives to improve and taxed at a higher rate if they don’t attempt to improve.
@9J8WFDB11mos11MO
Economic growth for who?
A billionair owning more land doesnt really help anyone. Building houses for citizens helps everyone.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
In what ways do you believe our cultural or historical values should influence modern day laws and policies?
@9KMDGPJ10mos10MO
We should study the past and try not to repeat the mistakes but government has no business making laws and policies without a tremendous amount of consultation apart from the political arena,
