my counter argument is, first off equality, but also youre not a criminal until you do something and giving free will over guns to everybody is dumb. just because you have a mental health issue or illness doe not mean you should be treated so differently and anyone is at rink when owning a gun.

what if a dangerous person has no records prior to buyig the gun? Wouldn't it still be as dangerous?

Because like i said, A criminal or mentally ill person will not care about any gun law or restrictions before shooting a school up. It will only prevent normal people from accessing these weapons.

people should have a gun only if they are well trained, have to defend themselves, and have taken lessons with these types of weapons before. So i do think there should be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun.
