There are some incredibly smart kids that know more than the average adult about worldly topics and politics. Perhaps, when younger aged, they can write a short and simple test to show their competence in order to vote.

I think 16 year old should be able to vote as they learn politics in grade 11 and 12 and they're probably more educated than most adults

They should be allowed to vote but it doesn't count. They may not k ow enough quote yet at 16-17 to vote, but this way we could see how their votes could have impacted results and parties would be better viable to modify/future set their policies to accommodate changing demographics.

If they are under age they should have to take a test to show if they are responsible enough to make an educationable decision.

No, but i believe there should be a cut off age. People over a certain age group are no longer eligible.
