Should terminally ill patients be allowed to end their lives via assisted suicide?

Assisted suicide, or euthanasia, is the practice of ending a life prematurely in order to end pain and suffering. Active euthanasia (intentionally killing a person to relieve pain) was legalized in February 2015 after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a woman who suffered from ALS.

Only if:
1. They are proven lucid and mentally competent enough to fully understand their choice.
2. If there is no chance they will survive their illness.
3. They should be allowed to refuse the treatment if they feel like it, along with artificial life support.
4. Legalize all forms of other forms of euthanasia in Canada.

Only if: 1. They undergo a psych evaluation to show they fully understand what they are agreeing too. 2. If there is no chance they will survive their illness.

I think that it should be their personal choice, and that no one should influence what they decide to do

Yes, but the government should also prioritize improving access to shelter, food, healthcare, and other necessary resources in order to ensure euthanasia is not a decision made out of duress.
